Today we will be making this cute basket. We will also be going to do continuous rounds. So no slip stitching and chaining X amount of stitches. I will be putting the stitch maker on the last stitch of every round, but you may do what you want to.
Instructions:
For the basket (the bottom part)
R1: 6 sc in mr
R2: (hdc inc) x 6 [12]
Put stitch marker on last stitch
R3: (inc, 1 hdc) x 6 [18]
Put stitch marker on last stitch
R4: (inc, 2 hdc) x 6 [24]
Put stitch marker on last stitch
R5: (inc, 3 hdc) x 6 [30]
Put stitch marker on last stitch
R6: BLO (hdc all around)
Put stitch marker on last stitch
R7 to R11: (hdc all around)
If you want your storage bin to be taller, just increase another row of hdc until you are satisfied.
At the end crochet (2 sc, 2 sl st)
For the lid:
R1: 6 sc in mr
R2: (hdc inc) x 6 [12]
Put stitch marker on last stitch
R3: (inc, 1 hdc) x 6 [18]
Put stitch marker on last stitch
R4: (inc, 2 hdc) x 6 [24]
Put stitch marker on last stitch
R5: (inc, 3 hdc) x 6 [30]
Put stitch marker on last stitch
R6: (inc, 4 hdc) x 6 [36]
Put stitch marker on last stitch
R7: BLO (hdc all around)
Put stitch marker on last stitch
R8 to R9: (hdc all around)
5 stitches before you hit your stitch marker do this:
(2 sc, 3 stitch) to the stitch marker
Fasten off
For the handle:
ch 17
(hdc on whole row)
ch 1 and fasten off
Weave in the ends and sew the handle and lid using the same yarn.
